One thing we have seen in over 20 years of helping others who want to be at peace with food, eating, and their bodies is the prevalence of a struggle that many people have:
Overeating at night.
Often (though not always), it happens in the company of only the computer or TV and it is after the spouse, roommate and/or kids have gone to bed. It may or may not include a glass or two of wine (or other beverage).
Secrecy flavors it.
Guilt follows it.
Shame darkens it.
